New Beginnings 1
Isaiah 43: 18 - 19 a - The new beginnings

by D.W. Madolo

A NEW SEASON BEGINS

a). It is a season of GLADNESS! Because
(i) Debts are cancelled/slaves freed – No one is grudging anyone for failing to pay. Have you forgiven? Matt 6:12
(ii) New opportunities are ahead not behind! based on God, "I am starting a new thing" Isa. 43:19a

b). It is a season of NEW LIFE! Because
(i) New strength is given for new anointing and new service Deut 5:14 cf Pentecost 50th day anointing
(ii) Its re-ownership time: Lev 25:23 ff God will trust you again even if no one else does! A ring, new robe & Shoes are reserved Lk 15 cf Lev 25:10

A BLESSING IS COMMANDED

a). Jubilee actually starts before its time! The sixth/forty-ninth year becomes the year of abundance! Lev 25:21

b). Jubilee preserves the commanded blessing: ‘FOOD YOU SHALL NOT ROT FOR THREE YEARS’ Lev 25:21 cf Duet 29:5. Things get spoilt when God’s command is removed

c). Jubilee has to be proclaimed! Lev. 25:10 Heb. Yobel means ‘ram’ – the ram’s horn is to be used ‘SO WHAT?’

CONCLUSION

There is sometimes what is called forced Jubilee
When the Land of God gets no rest, God takes some people away
When sin reigns in the house of God, so that there is no rest, God will enforce the Sabbath!
HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD LEV 26:27,33-35
‘If in spite of this you will not listen to me but continue to be hostile to me… I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you, Your land will be laid waste and your cities will lie in ruins, The land will will enjoy its Sabbath years all the time it lies desolate…’
